The Great Hospital offers a range of apartments ranging from rooms in the medieval buildings on the estate, typical almshouses and more modern flats.
Domiciliary Care
Care can be provided both in our assisted living block and in sheltered accommodation by our own in-house care team who are available 24hrs a day.
Events & Activities
The medieval halls are available for hire for a variety of functions. Tours of the medieval buildings can be arranged and regular open days are held.
Dinners & Receptions


  • THE BIRKBECK HALL offers a splendid setting for dinner parties for up to 80 people, while the medieval REFECTORY provides a more intimate dinner venue for up to 50 people

  • Both Halls have become popular for Receptions. 120 people can be accommodated in THE BIRKBECK HALL and 80 in the REFECTORY for drinks and canapés

  • The Great Hospital catering staff are versatile enough to meet most needs with formal dinners a speciality.  Catering is done by our own, widely aclaimed, catering team.  Our events administrator and head chef will discuss your individual requirements with you.

  • We have a comprehensive wine list, with something to suit all tastes. You are also welcome to supply your own wines, for which a corkage charge will be made.

  • Car parking is not available on site but there is a large car park nearby. In the evenings and at weekends we are able to use the Norwich Lower School car park by kind permission of the Head Master.

  • Both Dining Halls are wheel chair accessible
